Privacy Policy
The short version
- Mochi Mash has no accounts and no sign-up. We never ask for your name, email address or phone number.
- Your game progress is saved only on your own device. We cannot see it.
- The game shows ads from Google AdMob. Those ads are configured as non-personalized and child-directed, and the app never asks for permission to track you.
- Purchases are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details.
- To delete everything we could conceivably be associated with, delete the app.
1. Who we are
Mochi Mash ("the app", "the game") is developed and published by Hillel Ilany Freedman ("we", "us"). This policy explains what happens to information when you use the app. It applies to the iOS app distributed on the Apple App Store under the bundle identifier com.hillelilanyfreedman.MergeUp.
If you have any question about this policy, contact us at hillelilanyfreedman@gmail.com.
2. Information we do not collect
Mochi Mash does not require an account, a login, or an internet connection to play. We do not collect, request, receive or store:
- your name, email address, phone number or postal address;
- your contacts, photos, camera, microphone, calendar or health data;
- your precise location;
- any messages, profile or user-generated content — the game has no chat, no social features and no way to submit content.
The app itself makes no network requests of its own. It has no servers, no backend and no analytics provider connected to it.
3. Information stored on your device
The game saves your progress locally on your device using the standard iOS preferences store. This includes your level progress and stars, best scores, coin balance, energy balance, daily streak, unlocked cosmetic items, settings such as sound and vibration, and the identifiers of purchases that have already been credited so that you are not credited twice.
This data never leaves your device except as part of a device backup that you choose to make through Apple (for example an iCloud or Finder backup). Those backups are governed by Apple's privacy policy, not ours. We have no access to them.
Deleting the app deletes this data.
4. Advertising
Mochi Mash displays advertisements supplied by Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC. Ads appear between levels and as optional rewarded videos that you can choose to watch in exchange for energy.
To serve, cap, and measure ads and to prevent fraud, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may process technical information from your device, including:
- advertising and device identifiers;
- IP address and coarse, IP-derived region;
- device model, operating system version and language;
- whether an ad was shown, viewed, clicked or completed.
How we have configured advertising
We have deliberately restricted what Google is permitted to do with that information. Before the ads SDK starts, the app sets:
| Setting | Value | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Child-directed treatment | Enabled | Google treats every user of this app as a child for compliance purposes. |
| Maximum ad content rating | G (General) | Only general-audience ad creatives are eligible. |
| Ad personalization | Disabled | Ads are not selected based on a profile of your interests. |
| Non-personalized ads signal | Sent on every request | Each individual ad request is flagged as non-personalized. |
| App Tracking Transparency prompt | Never shown | The app does not request permission to track you, and does not access the IDFA for tracking. |
In Apple's terminology, the app does not "track" you: information collected for advertising is not linked to your identity and is not used to build a cross-app or cross-site profile of you.
Google's handling of this information is governed by Google's own terms. You can read them at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and policies.google.com/privacy. You can limit ad tracking system-wide on your device under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking and Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising.
If you would prefer not to see ads at all, the app offers a one-time No Ads Forever purchase that permanently disables interstitial advertising.
5. Purchases
Mochi Mash offers optional in-app purchases: three consumable energy packs and one non-consumable "No Ads Forever" unlock. All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit.
We never see and never receive your credit card number, billing address, Apple Account credentials or any other payment information. Apple provides the app with a cryptographically verified transaction record; the app stores the transaction identifier locally so it does not credit the same purchase twice. Apple also provides us with aggregate, anonymised sales reports that cannot identify individual purchasers.
Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
6. Children's privacy
Mochi Mash is rated 4+ and is suitable for a general audience including children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age.
Because the game may appeal to children, we treat every user as a child for advertising purposes, as described in section 4: personalized advertising is disabled for all users, ad content is restricted to a General rating, and no tracking permission is requested. We believe this is consistent with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and with the UK and EU rules on children's data.
In-app purchases require approval through Apple's payment system and, where a family has enabled Apple's Ask to Buy, parental approval. Parents can disable in-app purchases entirely using Settings → Screen Time → Content & Privacy Restrictions on the device.
If you believe a child has provided personal information to us in some way we have not anticipated, contact us at hillelilanyfreedman@gmail.com and we will investigate and delete it.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of personal information about you, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. These include rights under the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended (CCPA/CPRA).
In practice, because we hold no account and no server-side records, there is nothing on our side to retrieve, export or correct. You can exercise the equivalent of deletion yourself at any time by deleting the app from your device, which removes all locally stored game data.
For information held by Google in connection with advertising, please use Google's own controls and contact routes, linked in section 4.
We do not sell or share your personal information, as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA, and we have never done so.
Where GDPR applies, our legal basis for the limited processing described in section 4 is our legitimate interest in funding and operating a free game, restricted by the non-personalized configuration described above. You may contact us at any time to raise an objection.
8. Data retention
We do not retain personal information, because we do not collect it. Game data stored on your device is retained until you delete the app or reset your progress. Aggregate sales reports provided by Apple are retained for as long as required for tax and accounting purposes.
9. International transfers
We do not transfer personal information internationally, because we do not collect it. Google and Apple operate globally and may process the technical information described above in countries other than your own, under their own safeguards and privacy policies.
10. Security
Game data is stored inside the app's private container on your device, protected by iOS application sandboxing and by your device passcode and encryption. Because no personal data is transmitted to us, there is no account for an attacker to compromise on our side.
11. Third-party services
The app integrates the following third-party components:
- Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) — advertising. Privacy policy.
- Apple StoreKit / App Store — distribution and payments. Privacy policy.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we ever make a change that materially expands what is collected — for example by adding an analytics provider or an online feature — we will say so clearly in the app's release notes before the change takes effect.
